“ONE POLITICAL LESBIAN’S STRUGGLE AGAINST THE TRANS INVASION”
SORRY I CAN’T TAKE CAPS LOCK OFF NOT FOR THISTOO PERFECT NOT TO INSTAREBLOG
Lmffffaooo, ridiculous radfems are ridiculous.
yes accurate
Is this what the term “radical feminism” has come to mean on the internet? I certainly wouldn’t call the people this post is making fun of radical! How is it “radical” to prop up the patriarchy through racism, transphobia, and limiting gender roles? This stuff is about as hilariously status quo as it gets.
RadFems are really good at being the butts of jokes. Makes me giggle. Otherwise I really have no use for ‘em. Yeah, the term Radical Feminist has kinda been swallowed up by a bunch of really awful and hateful people who narrowly define who is a woman and who gets to be safe and protected and everyone outside of their group gets run over with flaming spiky bulldozers (cause they’re radical).
Uuuugh, that just me so MAD because I have been identifying as a radical feminist for years, and all of the above is the exact opposite of what that means. Radical feminism is supposed to be a rejection of white middle-to-upper class heteronormative and cis-centered notions about womanhood and femininity, all of which have been traditionally embraced by the white ciswomen of the first and second waves of feminism. I hate seeing the name of such an important stance/ideology being appropriated by people who are such a hot mess of hatred internalized -isms. I also hate how people have to associate “radical” ideologies with violence or “wackiness” or general disorder. What makes an ideology radical is when it steps outside the accepted extremes of an argument (example: rather than support gay marriage or disagree with gay marriage, a radical viewpoint would be that marriage itself is an outdated institution whose controversial nature distracts from more pertinent struggles in the liberation of queer people).
TL;DR: Yo, “radfems,” stop calling yourself “radical” and stop calling yourself “feminists” - you’re neither.
So… they’re not actually trolling?
I thought they were trolling -.-Nope, they’re serious. There are even published books on all of this nonsense. I just didn’t realize their metaphorical flag said “radical feminism” on it.
